Alternative fuels are slowly gaining notoriety in Europe. While not end curdling Electric for its high price, other options such as liquefied natural gas LPG or CNG are improving their share by having relatively low cost both purchase and use.
Increasingly common in products of VAG, Audi today unveiled the new A4 Avant g-tron it becomes the second model of the firm in order to feed natural gas CNG or unleaded gasoline interchangeably after A3 g-tron. While using the name "g-tron" in Audi, is a technology that had already been released in SEAT, Skoda and VW with the acronym TGI.
According to the current approval cycle the g-tron needs 4 kg / 100 natural gas or what is the same, that distance would cost just under four euros. Another advantage of this fuel is that its emissions are much lower than gasoline, lowering the barrier of 100 g / km of CO2.
With a full tank of CNG can travel about 500 km (it takes 19 liters) to which must be added another 450 km that can be performed using unleaded petrol (25 liter tank). The driver can choose at any time what fuel use by pressing a button and if any of them is exhausted, the system will change automatically.
The new gas tank is located under the false floor in the trunk, so they had to remove the spare tire and the battery has been relocated. The good news is that the load capacity remains almost unchanged to preserve the typical volume of Avant when not using that false background.
So far the company has not communicated the prices that will reach the Spanish market but considering that its launch is scheduled for late next year, there is still time to adjust supply and equipment.
Additionally, if you need some of the car parts, you could purchase at Banggood, which is one of the wholesale platform to provide you the low prices. Such as, audi a4 bulbs, car decoration stickers, etc.
